Description

The AWA Building was designed and completed by architects Morrow and Cordon in 1939 and became one of the most notable commercial buildings of Sydney. This notable office building was modelled on Berlins Funkturn Tower, which took inspiration from the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The building comprises a 14 storey commercial office building over ground floor retail and a landmark broadcasting tower reaching 46 metres which until the mid 1960s was the tallest building in Sydney with a viewing platform. The building was renovated and strata titled in the early 1990s and further upgraded internally and externally in 2007 to include anew cooling tower and two passenger lifts.
